Combine your passion for off-road biking with a classic safari in Africa.
Zambia is a paradise for off-road enthusiasts – countless trails and treks crisscross the rural landscape with its river valleys and mountain gorges. Along the way, we'll visit two of the country's most beautiful national parks and finally relax on a houseboat on Lake Kariba.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Livingstone
Upon arrival in Livingstone, we transfer to Maramba River Lodge, set along the tranquil riverbank. The night is spent in comfortable en‑suite safari tents, combining the charm of the bush with modern amenities. Dinner in the restaurant. (-/-/-)
Day 2: Mabula Farm
The morning is yours to enjoy at leisure, with time for any activity of your choice.
In the early afternoon, we set off on our off‑road enduro bikes, riding 50 kilometers through the bush until we reach the campsite at Mabula Farm.
As the sun begins to set, we take a sundowner ride to a nearby dam, where we hope to spot kudu, impala, eland, and other wildlife gathering at the water’s edge.
The day concludes with camping in spacious bow tents surrounded by the african bush. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Dumdumwenze (Kafue National Park)
We continue our journey by bike, covering around 150 kilometers along bush tracks, ox‑cart trails, and footpaths — a stretch of riding that is both fast and effortless.
By evening, we reach our remote bush camp, located just south of the Kafue National Park boundary.
Here we embrace the spirit of wild camping, with no formal facilities — instead relying on our own long‑drop toilet and a simple bucket shower beneath the open sky. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Kafue National Park
The track runs parallel to the eastern boundary of Kafue National Park, leading us toward the Nanzhila Plains. In the afternoon, we set out on a sundowner game drive, exploring the lagoons and floodplains that define this remarkable landscape. Here, lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam, while elephants and a wide variety of antelope species are frequently encountered.
The day ends with camping at Hornbill Lodge, nestled within the heart of Kafue Park. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Lake Ithezithezi (Kafue Nationalpark)
Our journey to Lake Ithezithezi takes us across vast floodplains, Mopane woodlands, and traditional African villages, covering roughly 60 kilometers of off‑road terrain.
By late afternoon, we reach Chibila Camp, where our campsite offers a panoramic view across the shimmering lake. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Kaingu Campsite (Kafue Nationalpark)
We trace the course of the Kafue River, winding through vast floodplains where Borassus palms rise like sentinels above the grasslands. Crossing the river by pontoon, we journey north toward Kaingu Lodge, a hidden retreat nestled along the water’s edge. After a 180‑kilometer ride through untamed African bush and rural areas, our riverside campsite feels like a sanctuary — a place of quiet comfort and renewal.
In the afternoon, we drift along the river on a boat cruise, gliding past an extraordinary landscape of towering granite boulders, sculpted by time into alluring shapes.
As the sun sinks low, the river shimmers with golden light, and the rhythm of the water becomes the perfect backdrop for camping beneath the stars beside the Kafue’s gentle flow. (B/L/D).
Day 7: Lusaka
We begin the day with a hearty breakfast, the perfect start before setting out on a 120‑kilometer journey through Zambia’s rural landscapes.
Along the way, we stop for a delicious lunch at the Olive Grove Restaurant, then continue our drive to Lusaka in the Land Rover.
The afternoon is spent gathering provisions for the days ahead and taking a gentle walk across the private game farm, soaking in the natural surroundings.
As evening falls, we settle into the Lilayi Lodge, a luxurious retreat nestled within its own wildlife estate on the outskirts of Lusaka.
A la carte dinner in the restaurant (own expense). (B/L/-).
Day 8: Lower Zambezi Valley
From Lilayi Lodge, we ride our motorcycles through beautiful mountain scenery, descending into the Zambezi River Valley.
The journey continues until we reach Kiambi on the banks of the Zambezi River.
In the afternoon, we enjoy a boat trip along the Zambezi, taking in its majestic flow.
The day ends with camping beside the river. (B/L/D)
Day 9: Lake Kariba
From Kiambi, we begin our final motorcycle ride to Siavonga, where we continue the journey aboard a houseboat. Overnight accommodation is provided in the comfortable cabins of the houseboat, moored near Lotri Bay.
The program includes a boat excursion and a sundowner walk up a hill, offering sweeping views of the lake as the day draws to a close. (B/L/D)
Day 10: Transfer to Lusaka
DepartureTransfer to Lusaka, followed by a direct drive to the airport (approximately 4–5 hours). From there, we board our flight back home. (B/L/-)
